How does a louvre roof work?

A louvre roof uses adjustable blades to control sunlight, shade and airflow. Our manual louvre pergolas let you tilt the blades from 0° to 90° using a crank handle. Open them for natural light and ventilation, or close them for shade and rain protection suited to the selected model.

Does a louvre pergola keep the rain out?

Closing the louvres provides overhead rain protection, with integrated gutters helping to manage rainwater. Protection varies by model: our DTP range is described as providing shelter from light rain, while our ORT double-layer range offers higher water tightness. An open-sided pergola can still admit wind-driven rain. Check the selected product's roof sealing, drainage and installation details before purchasing.

Should I choose a freestanding or wall-mounted louvre pergola?

A freestanding pergola creates a separate outdoor dining or relaxation area and can be positioned independently of the house. A wall-mounted pergola suits an outdoor area alongside your home. Choose according to your layout, suitable fixing points and available space. For wall-mounted models, check wall suitability and clearance around doors, windows and eaves before installation.

Can a louvre pergola be installed on an existing deck?

Installation on an existing deck depends on the deck's supporting structure and the fixing requirements of the selected pergola. Have a qualified installer assess the deck and determine suitable anchoring before purchasing. Use the exact product dimensions and post positions when planning your layout.

What wind rating do your louvre pergolas have?

Wind ratings vary by model. Our DTP manual freestanding pergolas list wind resistance up to 100 km/h, while our ORT double-layer pergolas list up to 150 km/h. These figures do not establish suitability for every site. Check the selected model's specifications and installation instructions, and have your installer assess the location, foundations and anchoring requirements.

Can I install a louvre pergola myself?

Professional installation is recommended to ensure correct assembly and secure fixing. Review the selected model's installation manual before ordering so you can plan the foundations, anchoring and roof clearance. Wall-mounted models also require suitable structural fixing points.
