How Steelmates started

In 2009, our journey began with the import of outdoor furniture from overseas. With Steelmates garden sheds being half the price of their competitors and no compromise on quality, we swiftly gained market share. Initially, we served Auckland only, but soon became pioneers in the industry by directly selling garden sheds and greenhouses to customers online through our website and Trade me NZ. In 2011, we established our Christchurch branch, which now caters to the distribution needs of the South Island.

Our Philosophy

Over the years, our customers provided us with valuable feedback, enabling us to understand the pros and cons of our outdoor furniture and to comprehend the expectations of New Zealanders and local hardware stores. Consequently, we decided to design and manufacture our own sheds and greenhouses, catering not only to the local market but also to customers worldwide. We have also expanded our product range to include steel and aluminium outdoor furnitures, such as planter boxes, pergola & awning, tool storage boxes, and garage cabinets.

Despite our growth, our company philosophy remains the same: providing quality products and services at affordable prices.

Our Contribution

Though small, we are passionate nature lovers committed to protecting New Zealand’s wildlife.With every greenhouse sold, we plant a tree through our "Greenhouse Grows, Tree Follows" initiative.Each tree supports endangered species, restores ecosystems, and helps remove tons of carbon dioxide, fostering a healthier planet.
