Manufactured from quality steel with a clean minimal-frame design, it combines durability, functionality, and a modern appearance. Supplied as a complete kitset package with installation instructions for a convenient setup.

Why Choose This Single Carport

  • New Zealand Made with local engineering and manufacturing standards
  • Engineered design with current PS1 documentation for added confidence
  • Clean and modern appearance with minimal visible framing
  • Complete kitset solution with accessories included for easier installation
  • Flexible options available including Zinc, Coloursteel, clear roofing panel, and base plates
  • Supported by a 10-year structural warranty

Ideal Uses For

Suitable for protecting cars, motorcycles, trailers, and outdoor equipment while creating a practical covered area around the home.

Features

  • 3m long posts are supplied as standard. This allows for 0.9m in ground and a 2.1m clear height. Longer posts can be ordered for a greater clear height.
  • Posts are 100 x 100 square for a clean uncluttered appearance and are made from 0.75BMT steel which is roll formed for a strong structure.
  • Option of purchasing Galv Base Plates and attaching posts to an existing concrete surface. Please be aware the concrete MUST be in good condition.
  • Ability to have clear light roofing. Unfortunately the entire roof can’t be in clear roofing as the strength is in the Purlindek roofing steel, however, one clear panel lets in a lot of light!
  • Purlindek roofing on all carports for a strong clear span design. Roofing is either Zinc or Coloursteel finish. Please be aware Coloursteel is only colour on one side – the top side, the underside is a light grey primer colour.
  • Minimum 25mm slope to any corner on Single Carports. The gutters completely encircle the roof which enables the roof to be sloped in any direction!
  • Constructed using Rivets for a cost effective and simple assembly

Choose the right installation for your site

  • Posts set into the ground

Posts are set into concrete footings below ground. Suitable for soil, gravel or new driveways where footings can be prepared.

Pros: Clean appearance with no exposed base plates; suitable where an existing concrete slab is unavailable.
Cons: Requires excavation, concrete and curing time. Existing paving may need cutting.

  • Base plates on existing concrete

Posts are secured to suitable existing concrete using base plates and anchors. Suitable where the slab’s thickness, strength and condition meet installation requirements.

Pros: Neat surface-mounted finish; avoids digging post holes when the slab is suitable.
Cons: Base plates and fixings remain visible; unsuitable concrete may need strengthening or replacement. Plates and anchors may cost extra.

Do I need building consent?

Ground-level carports up to 20m² may qualify for a building consent exemption. Carports over 20m² and up to 40m² may also qualify through an engineer or Licensed Building Practitioner pathway, subject to the relevant conditions.

Check your proposed installation with your local council before starting. Boundary setbacks and other planning requirements still apply.

How is the floor area measured?

Use the area within the supporting posts, rather than the roof’s overall coverage.

What is the standard clearance?

Standard clearance beneath the gutter beams is 2.1m. Ask Steelmates about taller options.

Can I install it on an existing driveway?

Yes, subject to suitable foundations. Options include in-ground posts or optional base plates on suitable concrete.

Can I assemble it myself?

Kitset assembly is possible with suitable skills and equipment. Review the installation manual before deciding.

Are gutters included?

Yes. Perimeter guttering, a downpipe and an outlet are included.

Can I request a different size?

Contact Steelmates with your dimensions to discuss custom options and engineering requirements.

Can it attach to my house?

Potentially, but an engineer must assess the proposed connection and supporting structure.

Can I add a translucent roof panel?

Translucent panel options are available. Ask Steelmates about compatible configurations.

What warranty applies?

A 10-year structural warranty and 25-year durability statement apply, subject to their terms and maintenance requirements.
