3-in-1 Mechanical Soil Testing Tool
This soil tester features a dual-probe design and mechanical testing system, allowing you to measure soil moisture, pH level, and light intensity with a simple switch. No batteries or complicated setup required—easy to use and beginner-friendly.
Dual Probe for Faster & More Accurate Results
The dual metal probes provide quicker detection and improved accuracy compared to single-probe testers. A wide-scale dial with clear markings makes readings easy to understand at a glance.
One-Key Three-Function Testing
- Simply slide the switch to select the measurement mode:
- MOIST (Moisture):
Scale 1–10 - 1–3 (Red): Too dry, watering needed
- 4–7 (Green): Optimal moisture level
- 8–10 (Blue): Too wet
- pH (Acidity / Alkalinity):
Range 3.5–8 - 7 is neutral
- Lower values indicate higher acidity
Adjust soil pH according to your plant’s needs. - LIGHT (Light Intensity):
Range 0–2000 lumens
Higher values indicate stronger light. Use this to decide whether shading or relocation is needed.
Wide Range of Applications
Suitable for use in greenhouses, home gardens, planting sheds, balconies, flower beds, and potted plants. Designed specifically for soil and dirt only—not suitable for liquids or water testing.
Easy & Safe to Use
- Insert the probes at least 2/3 of their length into the soil for accurate readings
- Probes will not function correctly if only the tips are inserted
- Avoid rocks or hard objects to prevent damage
- Clean the probes after each use to maintain accuracy

Important Notes
- When measuring soil pH or moisture, insert the probes deeply into the soil, leaving about 1 cm exposed.
- If the soil is extremely dry, lightly moisten it before testing. Forcing the probes into hard soil may damage the electrodes.

Dispatch
STEELMATES makes sure that you get your delivery on time and in one piece.
All orders are shipped using Track and Trace and require a signature upon delivery. Orders placed after 11:00am will be will be dispatched the following working day (Monday to Friday only excluding public holidays).
Please allow an extra one or two business days for delivery to rural addresses. If for some reason we cannot fulfil your order within the specified timeframe, you will be notified by email of the new delivery time.
We are not able to deliver goods to PO Boxes!
It would be faster and easier if you could collect from freight companies' depot.
Order Delivery Time
STEELMATES is not responsible for service transit time. Transit times are provided by the delivery service, excluding weekends, and holidays and may vary with package origin and destination, particularly during peak seasons.
Any quotations for delivery times by the STEELMATES are made in good faith but are estimates, and the seller shall not be bound by such a quotation.

Shipping Charges
-Shipping and Handling Fee options are listed on the checkout page and require buyers to select the correct location upon checkout.
-Deliberate selection of incorrect shipping options. Selecting a non-rural destination when based in Rural Location in order to avoid correct freight charges will result in fee reimbursement and delay in Delivery.
-Item(s) will not be shipped until payment has been received in full and has cleared.
-When purchasing multiple bulky products, freight will increase according to qty.
- Delivery costs are shown as estimates, and in circumstances where the estimated freight is not able to cover the freight cost, it would result in fee reimbursement. If the estimated charge is higher than the actual freight cost, the excess portion will be refunded.
- Public Holidays: Orders made on a New Zealand public holiday will be processed on the next business day.
Risk of Loss or Damage
All items purchased from STEELMATES are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items passes to you upon our delivery to the carrier.
STEELMATES will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or delay occurring to goods in transit. Accordingly, we recommend that you arrange your own transit insurance.
Damaged Goods
Prior to acknowledging delivery to the carrier, the buyer must ensure that the complete consignment as per the carrier’s note has been received.
The Buyer must check their item immediately to confirm the damaged condition on arrival and report any damage or faults to the STEELMATES by filling in the return page, or e-mail directly (with photos if necessary) within 48hrs of having received their item. Please specify the item title and invoice number. We reserve the right to refuse any claims that are made after this time frame.
Transport Companies
STEELMATES will decide which service is more appropriate for every delivery based on the different services offered.
Delivery of Bulky items is done strictly door to door – Curb Side Service. This means that Driver will not take Bulky items up flights of stairs or difficult to access areas. The driver will make a decision based on his sole discretion as to the level of assistance to be provided upon delivery. As such, we strongly recommend, particularly for Bulky items, having a number of people assisting with delivery. Oversized items may require assistance with hand unloading from the truck, as their length exceeds the maximum capacity of the tail lift. If you are unable to assist the driver with unloading, please contact us to arrange a two-person delivery. Please note that an additional fee may apply.
Overlength items may only be delivered to your nearest Mainfreight depot. If this applies, our team will notify you prior to dispatch.
